Why this publication exists

Willow began with a simple observation: adults often receive health information as disconnected commands. Eat this. Avoid that. Train harder. Sleep more. Our work reconnects the pieces and gives readers enough context to decide what deserves attention.

We write for men navigating work, family, changing energy and the responsibility of caring for themselves in the middle of real life. That includes uncertainty. It includes cultural foodways, city routines and the need to consult professionals when a concern is persistent or serious.

Clear context

We distinguish established guidance from emerging ideas and say when evidence is limited.

Respectful tone

We avoid shame, fear and simplistic promises. Health is not a moral scorecard.

Local awareness

Our Jakarta address reflects a wider Indonesian readership and the environments in which routines happen.

How we work

  1. We define the question in everyday language.
  2. We review credible sources and identify where guidance depends on the person.
  3. We edit for practical use, not dramatic claims.
  4. We invite corrections and update material when the evidence or context changes.
“Good health writing should make the next conversation more informed, not make a reader feel judged.”

Editorial masthead

Willow is written and edited by a small team based in Jakarta. Every article carries the review of at least two people from this list: the writer or section editor, and the sources editor who checks references. Roles are described by editorial function. Readers who want to ask about a specific piece can write to the desk and name the editor responsible.

How an article reaches the page

  1. An editor proposes a topic after reader questions or a gap in the existing guides.
  2. A writer drafts the piece and lists the sources used for each factual statement.
  3. The sources editor compares the draft with guidance from bodies such as the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
  4. The copy editor reviews tone, accessibility and wording that could be read as a promise.
  5. The chief editor approves the piece, and the review date is shown on the page.
